  • Moth trapping 26th May - moths and glow worms!

Last week we had quite a few less moths - which could be down to the moon phase - 87% illumination, so perhaps not ideal - but we still got some pretty awesome moths, and our first hawkmoth! Unfortunately still only have 4 traps working, so 3 at College Reservoir at the moment, and one at Argal -

    Argal Trap 1 -

    Muslin moth

1 Noctuidae still to identify - photo to follow soon!

    College Trap 1 -

    Poplar Hawkmoth!

    3 Muslin moths

    College Trap 2 -

    Hebrew Character

    Common Quaker

A pesky pug - still to ID!

    College Trap 3 -

    Empty!

We also had a pretty exciting non-moth related find whilst setting the traps up - a glow worm!!
